Grow your own lashes longer, darker and fuller in as little as 8 weeks!
What is Latisse?
Latisse is the first and only FDA-approved prescription treatment used to grow eyelashes in people who have inadequate or not enough eyelashes. The active ingredient is called Bimatoprost, which is a prostaglandin that prolongs the growth phase of lash follicles.
Is Latisse effective and safe?
Yes. Since it was FDA-approved, 350,000 people have used Latisse. In clinical studies, nearly 80% of daily users noticed a 25% increase in length, a 106% increase in fullness, and an 18% increase in the darkness of their lashes after 16 weeks of daily use. The most common side effects are itching and/or eye redness, which are usually temporary and do not require the user to discontinue the product. Temporary darkening of the skin of the eyelid near the lash margin can occur in some people, but it is reversible if application of Latisse is stopped. No cases of changes in iris pigmentation were seen in the Latisse clinical studies. Even though Latisse is safe, you should consult with Dr. Lawton if you have any serious medical problems, especially glaucoma, before starting on Latisse.
How do I use Latisse?
Latisse kits come with special sterile applicators. After applying a drop of the Latisse solution to the applicator, it is applied along the skin of the eyelid where the lashes come out, much as you would apply eye liner. Application should be done on a clean and dry eye with no make-up or creams, once per day and preferably at bedtime.
What kind of results can I expect from Latisse?
Individual results will vary, of course, but in the clinical studies 80% of users reported longer, fuller and darker lashes. Results can be seen in as little as 4 weeks, but the product should be used daily for 16 weeks for full effect. Once the full effect is seen, you probably only need to apply the product on a maintenance basis, such as 2 to 3 times per week. If you stop using the products, your lashes will return to their original appearance after a few months.
